Centre for Shoulder, Elbow, Hip, Knee and Foot Surgery, Sports Traumatology at the ATOS Praxisklinik Heidelberg was established in January 1997. Apart from the treatment of shoulder and elbow diseases, we have also specialized in the treatment of sports injuries.

With this specialization, we have met the requirements of a highly developed joint surgery and sports medicine relying on the constant control and evaluation of our clinical data. For quality assurance, all examinations and treatments are documented by means of EDP.

State-of-the-art techniques and profound surgery experience guarantee a high degree of treatment success. A perfectly coordinated physiotherapy and specific personalized follow-up treatment plans secure the surgery outcomes.

Since 1998 until and including 2007, more than 10,000 surgical interventions at the shoulder or the elbow were performed:

• Arthroscopic rotator cuff reconstructions: 4001
• Open rotator cuff reconstructions: 1330
• Muscle replacement plastics: 421
• Arthroscopic stabilizations: 1861
• Open stabilizations: 1098
• Fracture treatments: 324
• Acromioclavicular joint stabilizations: 202

A total of 1075 shoulder and elbow surgeries were performed in 2009:
